Flower Valley: On the Great River Road
Flower Valley Vineyard and Winery was established thirteen years ago on our family farm by Dave, Mary, and Tom Mohn. For generations this 9-acre land has yielded excellent crops. Being uniquely situated in a valley, the small size of the fields has made it less conducive to the large-scale operating systems of modern farming. However, the sandy soil in this area drains well, making it a perfect medium for growing grapes; and hence, our first vines were planted here in 2002 on the gently sloping hillside of the farm.
In 2012 we opened our tasting room where we proudly grow almost all the grapes in our wines on the more than 4,100 vines in our own vineyard.
The E.J. Fryck Barn
Our farm is home to the E.J. Fryck Barn built in 1872, which is on the Federal Registrar for historic places for its historical use during the wheat-growing era which whickly declined and was replaced by much larger dairy barns. Our barn has been host to a number of events (check out our upcoming ones), and we'd love to host your event too. The Fryck barn is just one of several beautiful locations we have on-site.

Located Near Red Wing, MN
Located just 4 miles South of Red Wing Minnesota, the Flower Valley was carved by the rush of melt water when glaciers subsided over 10,000 years ago, also forming the Lake Pepin and the Mississippi River. No one knows who gave this beautiful valley its name, so we attribute it to the original settlers who homesteaded the land. The farmland of Flower Valley Vineyard & Winery has managed to keep its same look and character since that time, with hardwood forests on the hillsides and farm fields filling up the bottom land so you can enjoy the beauty of the bluffs as you walk through our vineyard, and taste our wines.
We are located near Red Wing, just a few miles North of Lake City, MN and an easy day drive from the twin cities metro area.
We will be pleased to introduce you the wines we produce with grapes grown on-site.Plan Your Visit
